Hi, thought I would put in a last minute post tonight. My other half is out on the town with his mates so This is the perfect opportunistic chance to grad his very swanky posh laptop and to while away a few hours on the net, starting with my blog.
I have been going through one of my many random sketch books today.
I pulled out some of my original sketches that were made into art cards and sold in the shops in the last year or so. since I have been mostly sewing funny character toys of late I fancied a bit of a change and poke about in my books memory banks.
some ideas made it to the shops others were taped in the book for a rainy day such as this one.
Well I think they need to come out and earn there keep in my precious scrap books.
I have started framing them up and putting them on my etsy site for sale so if you have spotted a sketch you like either from one of my art cards in a shop or on my random blog musing then now is the time to grad one.
I would love to put them in a proper exhibition one day but as they are so very random in context colour and thought i wouldn't even know were to start in grouping them into some kind of display altogether.
well a cuppa is calling and i made a cake today. It's not too great i'm afraid to admit, so as no one else in the family is too impressed i have this massive cake to get through. A slice with a brew is a good place to start.......bring on the calories..........whoop whoop yum yum......
I would post a photo of the said cake but it really doesn't look to fab either so i'll leave that to your imaginations, its bound to be better x x x
Happy thoughts indeed this week. I got my long awaited embroidery from my friend Dotty Bird ( her blog is in my favorites )and my nest broach and a little extra dragonfly broach.....oh happy day...... already had comments on the nest broach. I also stitched some old toys. I cut out a few cows last year for some moo boxes I had kicking around. I made and sold two but never got round to making up the others. I also got back to squeaking teds.
I was sooooooo sick of making these i had to give them a wide berth or be put of sewing for life......
I made and sold so many for the shops that they were appearing in my dreams randomly Chasing me with there squeakers going off......very scary indeed.............but I have found the love again for these little fellers and can see a second wave.
Well there we go, hopefully spreading on those happy thoughts to you guys as well. enjoy the sun while it lasts and catch you all soon. x x x
I shall get back to my seeds planting up and wall extions while i can...

We have been making the most of the few spring flowers this easter holiday. me and merrryn had a lovely day hedgerow rummaging and feather finding while fin was skateboarding with his dad. She got a flower press for a gift and i thought some kids portrait work would be interesting.
After sketching the kids on some plastic sheeting we sandwiched the best dried flowers between two sheets of glass and let the sun light shine through to finish the picture.
......mmmmmm what else have i been doing........ I found some great mirrors and a few more coffee pots at the charity shop.
I love charity shops, such randomness put next to each other on the shelves, and the strangest clothes and book choices, merryn also found a nest which is next to owls on my shelf now.
I also thought I would start taking pictures of my two inspiration spots in my house. one is a proper pin board in the work space and the second point of musing is in my kitchen. I have this funny spot next to my tea cupboard were i randomly stuff postcards.I love having a nose at other peoples houses so thought this might be interesting. Or not .... even if the images don't do much for you, you have to be impressed at how much stuff I can cram in this little nook. And due to the wonder of my cooking and lack of dusting, the build up of grease and grime there makes a brilliant glue.......
Such a random post this week. Its making me laugh reading it back. Well there we have it my random easter holiday and pinboard post......... I will try to not be so all over the place next time. Hope you all have a good back to normal week and rest from the holiday madness. Im going to eat my last egg now with a tea. Cadbury cream egg one, Saving the best till last.....x
When I last posted in December I did not think it would be March that I posted again, so sorry about that.
I haven't been on one long hangover recovering from Christmas, but preoccupied with some private work I was given in Jan. I have been working on some art work for a magazine and I also had to do an illustrated map of Crown Hill in Plymouth and a couple of workshops with some forces families kids in a local school. All this is very exciting but unfortunatly It meant I forgot about blogging.
I have put a couple of the kids illustrations up and a snap shot of the artwork for the map and magazine i did .
The forces families chlidren were so great and such a nice bunch of kids, Makes you realise how hard some families have it. I hope there Dads and Mums come home safe and get to see the fab work there children have done.
My focus is now back though after the projects end, so I am now ready to get back to my random designs and kids wear collection for 2013.
As usual I have bags of ideas.......in my head.......... not yet on paper. lucky my brain is pretty empty and lots of room for these ideas to rattle about and grow (I should have been blond, i most deffinatly have bimbo genes that raise there ugly head every now and then, but such is life...... ) any how my belly is calling out for food so i better get the tea on. bye for now x
